What to compare before buying
Check usable drawer dimensions, documented load ratings, lock design, caster size, accessory availability, warranty terms, and replacement parts. Exterior dimensions alone do not describe usable capacity.
Build a working tool zone
Keep the bench, power, lighting, most-used tools, and cleanup supplies within a few steps. Leave enough floor room to open drawers and move a cart without blocking a vehicle path.
Decide what actually needs a lock
A keyed cabinet is worth the extra cost for power tools, blades, and anything a child or casual visitor should not access. Open pegboard and modular cases are fine for everyday hand tools that carry little risk if they go missing.
